Real Weddings: Peter & Ari

It brings us pure joy to create a work of art that will play an integral role in a couple’s wedding and marriage, and every so often Team Ketubah comes across a couple that we truly bond with. We are beyond excited to share with you the fun details of their wedding and the story behind their happily-every-after — it touched our hearts deeply and we are positive it will do the same for you as well!

You truly never know where you’ll find love — for Peter and Ari it was at the gym. Fast-forward and next thing you know, Peter is telling us all about his completely romantic engagement (we LOVED it!):

Ari proposed to me with a fabulous platinum band (with diamond) at our favorite Italian restaurant on the upper west side of Manhattan on New Year’s Eve.  I said YES. and then we went to Central park to watch the fireworks and called our families.

Peter and Ari came to us wanting something completely and totally unique — a commissioned Ketubah. Of all the Ketubahs we have the pleasure of making, Commissioned Ketubot are definitely our favorite. Not only do we get to work one-on-one with each couple to find out their interests and styles, but we get to create something that holds such an important meaning to them in so many ways. We ended up creating a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind design for Peter and Ari — we loved it so much that we made The Lucky 99 Ketubah and added it to our collection, a design inspired by their Ketubah!

Their wedding looked and sounded absolutely stunning — especially the reception. Peter told us all about the amazing music they had — “a 15 piece orchestra all evening long…” As for their absolute favorite part of the wedding?

Our favorite part of the wedding was our ceremony – surrounded by family and friends, all candle lit, under Ari’s family chuppah – a family heirloom was so moving, special and intimate.

With such a romantic proposal and gorgeous wedding, we weren’t surprised to learn that they weren’t going on just one honeymoon, but THREE! A trip to Mexico, Island hopping in the British Virgin Island, and Israel!

And as for their Ketubah?

Right now it’s in our bedroom standing upright on the dresser – in sight everyday.  We love it so much!

From Team Ketubah to Peter & Ari — Mazel Tov on your big day! From the very beginning conversation to the final Ketubah, we loved working with both of you. We feel so honored that you let us create something so meaningful to play an integral role on your wedding day. We wish you both a lifetime of laughter, adventure, and love!

Real Weddings: Toby & Glenn

It brings us pure joy to create a work of art that will play an integral role in a couple’s wedding and marriage, and every so often Team Ketubah comes across a couple that we truly bond with. We are beyond excited to share with you the fun details of their wedding and the story behind their happily-every-after — it touched our hearts deeply and we are positive it will do the same for you as well!

After hearing that Glenn proposed to Toby in Argentina, we connected with them RIGHT away! I mean — what’s more romantic than getting engaged in breathtaking Mendoza?

Glenn and Toby met as most couples do — through a mutual friend. Getting together to watch the Notre Dame college football game, their bar was filled with “more than a thousand fans going crazy when Michigan beat its big rival at the last second of the game.” Sounds exciting!

If you couldn’t tell — both Glenn and Toby are both BIG University of Michigan fans! Toby told us all about how her family has gone to the lake in Northern Michigan (where the Alumni Association owns a camp) for the last 25 years. For two of those summers Glenn has joined Toby and her parents — “…When Glenn not only survived but loved the Camp experience, we knew he was a keeper!

Knowing that they both were engaged in wine country Mendoza, Argentina, we had to ask — what was the engagement like?

Glenn orchestrated a lovely day with a private driver touring wineries in Mendoza and popped the question at Cavas Wine Lodge. The vineyard and views of the Andes were spectacular… As they walked back toward the lodge, they were greeted with cheers from other onlookers, sparkling wine and an enormous bouquet of gorgeous flowers. They enjoyed a delicious multi course meal from a private table and relaxed by the pool in the sunshine for part of the afternoon…

As part of our TINAK Team is from Argentina (as well as having spent time in Buenos Aires), we loved being able to connect on that point! Toby continued to tell us all about their big day and the presentation of their Ketubah to their friends and family…

We do love our Ketubah and received many compliments on both its unique and beautiful artwork, and wording during the wedding. We had the Rabbi explain how we were engaged in Argentina and how this Ketubah connects us to our experiences there.

The Around Jerusalem Ketubah

As most of Toby and Glenn’s guests were also alumni of the University of Michigan, they decided to incorporate Michigan traditions into the event. From the wedding party wearing the school’s colors, to a band playing the school fight song — they went all out! As a cute surprise for Glenn, Toby told us about a song she wrote just for him, “it was a take-off of the old Cole Porter classic ‘You’re The Top’ with new lyrics…”

All we can say is: Amazing!

From Team Ketubah to Toby and Glenn — we were so honored that you chose us to create something that would play such an integral role in your wedding and life. You were a complete pleasure to work with and we couldn’t have been more overjoyed to see that you loved your Ketubah and it was everything you dreamed of. We wish you both a lifetime of excitement, happiness, and love!

Real Weddings: Sarah & Jesse Thomas

It brings us pure joy to create a work of art that will play an integral role in a couple’s wedding and marriage, and every so often Team Ketubah comes across a couple that we truly bond with. We are beyond excited to share with you the fun details of their wedding and the story behind their happily-every-after — it touched our hearts deeply and we are positive it will do the same for you as well!
Not only was working with Sarah and Jesse on their Ketubah an absolute pleasure, but their beautiful love story and happily every after is like something out of a dream! With Sarah working for the U.S. Department of State and Jesse at the Canadian Embassy, we were begging to know — how did they both meet?!
My good Canadian friend, who I went to graduate school at Syracuse University, invited me to an event at the Embassy. At the event, she introduced us, and the rest is history…
Sarah spilled to us how much they love taking walks around Washington D.C., so it was no surprise that Jesse planned a romantic proposal at a beautiful lookout spot in Georgetown…
Jesse popped the question when we stopped at Book Hill. I said yes, and following in the footsteps of my parents who have been married for over 35 years, we carved our initials in a tree on the hill.
Sarah went on to tell us about their big day…
Surrounded by our closest family and friends, we ate, drank, laughed, and danced the weekend away. We entered the reception dancing to Notorious BIG’s “Hypnotize,” and everyone, from the little ones to the grandparents, made their mark on the dance floor throughout the evening.
Their wedding sounded (and looked!) absolutely wonderful — filled with excitement, warmth, and love. We absolutely adore how the Ketubah matched the overall ambiance of the wedding!

As if the proposal and wedding wasn’t beautiful enough, they had just about the most exciting honeymoon EVER. Where did they adventure to? “We honeymooned in Spain and Portugal… The whole experience was amazing! The views at Montserrat were breathtaking and the paella was delicious!”
Their favorite moment from the honeymoon?
One morning… we woke up early and drove to Montserrat, a beautiful Benedictine monk mountain retreat about an hour from Barcelona. Instead of spending a whole day leisurely exploring the site, we hiked up to the Sant Jeroni summit of Montserrat as fast as we could, ran back down the mountain, and drove back to the small town near Barcelona we were staying in, so we could enjoy the special of the day — paella — by 2:00 pm at a local mom-and-pop restaurant that we first visited for delicious tapas upon arriving in Spain.
We couldn’t think of a better experience to mark the beginning of a Happily Ever After! From our Team at TINAK HQ to Sarah and Jesse — we wish you both a lifetime of happiness. We were so honored to create something so meaningful for your special day. We hope every time you look at your Ketubah it fills you with excitement, warmth, and most importantly, love.

Not only were Anita and Matthew an absolute pleasure to work with, but their Ketubah was our very FIRST Spanish Ketubah! Anita has a ton of family from Argentina, and as many of our Ketubah team is from Argentina, we hold this Ketubah very near to our hearts. So how did the Ketubah go over on the big day?

My family from Argentina LOVED it. It’s now hanging in our living room and it looks beautiful. Thank you so so so much.

We love being able to work with couples who not only devote their time and effort into the text side of the Ketubah, but to the design and artistic side as well! Amy and Nathaniel were married in Pennsylvania, and Amy shared with us how she came across our website and gallery:

I found out about you guys because I wanted a nice ketubah that was more like a piece of art. I stumbled across your site which I immediately liked because of the options of artwork and also the site itself (it’s simplicity and ease of use).

Amy and Nathaniel’s wedding looked absolutely perfect, and we can tell their Ketubah truly matches their style and personalities! Amy shared with us some kind words upon first seeing her finished Ketubah: “We love the ketubah and can’t wait to get it framed…”

Nothing makes us happier than when a couple is completely in love with our art! Mazel Tov Amy and Nathaniel, we wish you heaps of love, joy, and happiness!
