Real Weddings: Anna & Andrew Gibson

It brings us pure joy to create a work of art that will play an integral role in a couple’s wedding and marriage, and every so often Team Ketubah comes across a couple that we truly bond with. We are beyond excited to share with you the fun details of their wedding and the story behind their happily-every-after — it touched our hearts deeply and we are positive it will do the same for you as well!

To sum up the beautiful love story between Anna and Andrew Gibson, Anna sent us this awesome video of their proposal (in Tel-Aviv!!!):

So just how did this completely adorable (and PERFECT) couple meet each other?

We actually met on Match.com and cancelled our accounts after two weeks, I was Andy’s first and only date he ever had from match, that was a 2nd date for me.

Awwwww! We love that! Anna continued on to tell us that Andrew proposed in Tel-Aviv after asking permission from her parents — her best friend and sister were with them too! It’s not often couples will actually send us video of their proposals, so we couldn’t have been more ecstatic to feature Anna and Andrew on our “Real Weddings” section. They were such a fun couple to work with, and ended up picking one of Team Ketubah’s favorite designs — The Ani L’Dodi Vibrant Mosaic Ketubah. Which we thought would look particularly stunning with their AMAZING multi-cultural themed wedding:

We combined Jewish and Scottish traditions and created our ceremony. We have a Houpa that was custom made by my sister. It has Celtic love knot, Hebrew writing and of course both Lions! The Scottish rampant lion and Jerusalem lion. We had quartets that sang both  Hebrew and Scottish songs, and of course we had a piper! Our favors were a mini bottle of Scotch (for Scotland) and a jar of honey (for Israel). We loved every minute of it.

Amazing! And just for fun we wanted to know — what’s the MOST ridiculous thing they’ve ever done together as a couple? Anna gushed, “Oh we have lots of those! But the best one was jumping into freezing water in Feb for charity, we were both dressed as bride and groom”.

As we said before — Anna and Andrew were such a pleasure to work with. Between there adorable love story to all the fun details of their wedding, we couldn’t have been more excited to play a role in their big day. We wish you both a lifetime of love, adventure, and happiness!

Real Weddings: Toby & Glenn

It brings us pure joy to create a work of art that will play an integral role in a couple’s wedding and marriage, and every so often Team Ketubah comes across a couple that we truly bond with. We are beyond excited to share with you the fun details of their wedding and the story behind their happily-every-after — it touched our hearts deeply and we are positive it will do the same for you as well!

After hearing that Glenn proposed to Toby in Argentina, we connected with them RIGHT away! I mean — what’s more romantic than getting engaged in breathtaking Mendoza?

Glenn and Toby met as most couples do — through a mutual friend. Getting together to watch the Notre Dame college football game, their bar was filled with “more than a thousand fans going crazy when Michigan beat its big rival at the last second of the game.” Sounds exciting!

If you couldn’t tell — both Glenn and Toby are both BIG University of Michigan fans! Toby told us all about how her family has gone to the lake in Northern Michigan (where the Alumni Association owns a camp) for the last 25 years. For two of those summers Glenn has joined Toby and her parents — “…When Glenn not only survived but loved the Camp experience, we knew he was a keeper!

Knowing that they both were engaged in wine country Mendoza, Argentina, we had to ask — what was the engagement like?

Glenn orchestrated a lovely day with a private driver touring wineries in Mendoza and popped the question at Cavas Wine Lodge. The vineyard and views of the Andes were spectacular… As they walked back toward the lodge, they were greeted with cheers from other onlookers, sparkling wine and an enormous bouquet of gorgeous flowers. They enjoyed a delicious multi course meal from a private table and relaxed by the pool in the sunshine for part of the afternoon…

As part of our TINAK Team is from Argentina (as well as having spent time in Buenos Aires), we loved being able to connect on that point! Toby continued to tell us all about their big day and the presentation of their Ketubah to their friends and family…

We do love our Ketubah and received many compliments on both its unique and beautiful artwork, and wording during the wedding. We had the Rabbi explain how we were engaged in Argentina and how this Ketubah connects us to our experiences there.

The Around Jerusalem Ketubah

As most of Toby and Glenn’s guests were also alumni of the University of Michigan, they decided to incorporate Michigan traditions into the event. From the wedding party wearing the school’s colors, to a band playing the school fight song — they went all out! As a cute surprise for Glenn, Toby told us about a song she wrote just for him, “it was a take-off of the old Cole Porter classic ‘You’re The Top’ with new lyrics…”

All we can say is: Amazing!

From Team Ketubah to Toby and Glenn — we were so honored that you chose us to create something that would play such an integral role in your wedding and life. You were a complete pleasure to work with and we couldn’t have been more overjoyed to see that you loved your Ketubah and it was everything you dreamed of. We wish you both a lifetime of excitement, happiness, and love!

Real Weddings: Sarah & Jesse Thomas

It brings us pure joy to create a work of art that will play an integral role in a couple’s wedding and marriage, and every so often Team Ketubah comes across a couple that we truly bond with. We are beyond excited to share with you the fun details of their wedding and the story behind their happily-every-after — it touched our hearts deeply and we are positive it will do the same for you as well!
Not only was working with Sarah and Jesse on their Ketubah an absolute pleasure, but their beautiful love story and happily every after is like something out of a dream! With Sarah working for the U.S. Department of State and Jesse at the Canadian Embassy, we were begging to know — how did they both meet?!
My good Canadian friend, who I went to graduate school at Syracuse University, invited me to an event at the Embassy. At the event, she introduced us, and the rest is history…
Sarah spilled to us how much they love taking walks around Washington D.C., so it was no surprise that Jesse planned a romantic proposal at a beautiful lookout spot in Georgetown…
Jesse popped the question when we stopped at Book Hill. I said yes, and following in the footsteps of my parents who have been married for over 35 years, we carved our initials in a tree on the hill.
Sarah went on to tell us about their big day…
Surrounded by our closest family and friends, we ate, drank, laughed, and danced the weekend away. We entered the reception dancing to Notorious BIG’s “Hypnotize,” and everyone, from the little ones to the grandparents, made their mark on the dance floor throughout the evening.
Their wedding sounded (and looked!) absolutely wonderful — filled with excitement, warmth, and love. We absolutely adore how the Ketubah matched the overall ambiance of the wedding!

As if the proposal and wedding wasn’t beautiful enough, they had just about the most exciting honeymoon EVER. Where did they adventure to? “We honeymooned in Spain and Portugal… The whole experience was amazing! The views at Montserrat were breathtaking and the paella was delicious!”
Their favorite moment from the honeymoon?
One morning… we woke up early and drove to Montserrat, a beautiful Benedictine monk mountain retreat about an hour from Barcelona. Instead of spending a whole day leisurely exploring the site, we hiked up to the Sant Jeroni summit of Montserrat as fast as we could, ran back down the mountain, and drove back to the small town near Barcelona we were staying in, so we could enjoy the special of the day — paella — by 2:00 pm at a local mom-and-pop restaurant that we first visited for delicious tapas upon arriving in Spain.
We couldn’t think of a better experience to mark the beginning of a Happily Ever After! From our Team at TINAK HQ to Sarah and Jesse — we wish you both a lifetime of happiness. We were so honored to create something so meaningful for your special day. We hope every time you look at your Ketubah it fills you with excitement, warmth, and most importantly, love.

We are beyond excited to share with you the fun details of their wedding and the story behind their happily-every-after — it touched our hearts deeply and we are positive it will do the same for you as well!

Not only were Anita and Matthew an absolute pleasure to work with, but their Ketubah was our very FIRST Spanish Ketubah! Anita has a ton of family from Argentina, and as many of our Ketubah team is from Argentina, we hold this Ketubah very near to our hearts. So how did the Ketubah go over on the big day?

My family from Argentina LOVED it. It’s now hanging in our living room and it looks beautiful. Thank you so so so much.

We are beyond excited to share with you the fun details of their wedding and the story behind their happily-every-after — it touched our hearts deeply and we are positive it will do the same for you as well!

We love being able to work with couples who not only devote their time and effort into the text side of the Ketubah, but to the design and artistic side as well! Amy and Nathaniel were married in Pennsylvania, and Amy shared with us how she came across our website and gallery:

I found out about you guys because I wanted a nice ketubah that was more like a piece of art. I stumbled across your site which I immediately liked because of the options of artwork and also the site itself (it’s simplicity and ease of use).

Real Weddings: Erica & Matthew Stein

It brings us pure joy to create a work of art that will play an integral role in a couple’s wedding and marriage, and every so often Team Ketubah comes across a couple that we truly bond with. We are beyond excited to share with you the fun details of their wedding and the story behind their happily-every-after — it touched our hearts deeply and we are positive it will do the same for you as well!

We love being able to work with couples who are as passionate about Ketubahs as we are! Married in California, Erica and Matthew went with the modern and bold Britto-Inspired Ketubah (one of Team Ketubah’s absolute favorites!). Usually when a couple shares some pictures of the Ketubah on their special day they’ll send us only a few, but Erica and Matthew were so awesome that they sent us a link to all the photos from their wedding! From start to finish their day looked absolutely beautiful, romantic, and fun — just as a wedding should be. We had a hard time choosing only a few (we loved them all!), but here are a few of our favorites:

The Lovers Dance Ketubah

We were so proud to see the Ketubah in their wedding photos, especially during the signing! Beyond the wedding it fills our hearts with warmth to know that our couples love their Ketubahs not only for its symbolism, but as an awesome work of art. Michael shared with us his thoughts:

We absolutely love the Ketubah and have already mounted it in our living room for all to see.

It is with great joy that we say Mazel Tov Erica and Matthew! Thank you for choosing us to make something that would play a symbolic and important role on you big day. We wish you a lifetime of fun, excitement, and love!

We are beyond excited to share with you the fun details of their wedding and the story behind their happily-every-after — it touched our hearts deeply and we are positive it will do the same for you as well!

Beyond being an absolute pleasure to work with, Michael and Leo’s Ketubah actually became one of Team Ketubah’s favorites! Married in Arizona, their wedding looked absolutely beautiful and personal — truly the perfect wedding. Their Ketubah featured a beautiful summer sky with waving trees, inspired by their personal tastes and interests. So of course, we had to ask how it went over on the big day (and what their friends and family thought!):

Everyone loved it. Thanks!

Real Weddings: Jessica & Joshua Klein

It brings us pure joy to create a work of art that will play an integral role in acouple’s wedding and marriage, and every so often Team Ketubah comes across a couple that we truly bond with. We are beyond excited to share with you the fun details of their wedding and the story behind their happily-every-after — it touched our hearts deeply and we are positive it will do the same for you as well!

Beyond being an awesome couple to work with, Jessica and Joshua’s wedding photos were absolutely stunning. From Jessica’s gorgeous dress and veil to the romantic ceremony, everything looked absolutely perfect! They chose one of Team Ketubah’s favorite, a Britto-Inspired Ketubah, and we could not have imagined a better fit for the both of them. We love hearing about how each couple incorporates their Ketubah on the big day, especially if they choose to do something beyond just the typical ceremony:

Beyond the actual Ketubah ceremony, we brought it to the wedding ceremony and displayed it on an easel next to the Chuppah. We then brought it up into our ballroom and displayed it right next to our table for the entire wedding.

We loved that they not only included the Ketubah in their ceremony, but for the whole wedding as well! We loved being able to create something that matched their modern style and tastes, and that they would love for years to come. After all the big celebrations were over, Joshua shared with us what they did with their Ketubah:

Jessica and I have our Ketubah hanging in our home with extreme pride.  We LOVE that beyond everything it represents symbolically, it is also a piece of art that we are excited and proud to display on our wall. I think couples often hang their Ketubah in their home because they think they’re supposed to or “have” to.  We couldn’t wait to hang ours!

A big Thank You! from Team Ketubah to Joshua and Jessica for letting us create something that played such an important role in your wedding. And thank you for sharing these gorgeous photos! We were completely honored that you feel such pride and joy not only because of its symbolism, but from the design as well. Mazel Tov on your big day and we wish you a lifetime of happiness, excitement and heaps of love!
