Easy: ask us, and we’ll make a skyline ketubah for any city you want!

Do you love London and want a London skyline Ketubah? Just ask!

Do you love Toronto and want a London skyline Ketubah? Just ask!

Do you love Chicago and want a London skyline Ketubah? Just ask!

Anywhere you want — we’ll create a Ketubah for you and your city. We just need to know what you want. Our obsession is to create the perfect Ketubah for you, no matter what city you love.

Who Buys The Ketubah? (Can I Give the Ketubah as a Gift?)

Here’s a common question we get: Does the couple need to buy their ketubah themselves; or can someone else give them the Ketubah as a gift? The subtext under this question is, Who buys the Ketubah?

Our answer:

The Ketubah was traditionally given to the couple by someone very close to the couple — such as a parent, sibling, or best friend. Often, however, the ketubah was purchased by the couple themselves.

Since the Ketubah is something that the couple will hang on their wall, it is something they will see every day of their life — and they will think of you. This is the reason why it makes sense for someone very close to the couple to buy it.

Imagine, this exaggerated situation: you have a vague acquaintance that you invite to your wedding. He buys you your Ketubah. You’ll think of him when you see the Ketubah — but isn’t that weird? You barely know him! On the other hand, if it’s a gift from one of your parents, or your brother or sister to whom you’re close, or your best friend in whose house you grew up — then that is special and intimate.

This is in a similar class of tradition as, the father of the bride buying a tallis for the groom as a gift, or the best man buying a kiddish cup — I’ve seen these variations of the tradition as well. The difference is, you rarely use the special tallis, and you also rarely use the kiddish cup. But the ketubah art hanging on your wall: you will see it every day of your life.

Want Your Own Text on a Ketubah?

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to let you all know that, if you want to use your own text on a Ketubah — we’d love to put any text you want!

Our goal is to make sure your Ketubah is 100% perfect — and that includes the right text for you.

Your rabbi has a different text? We’ll use it.
You want to write your own text? We’ll use it.
You want to change the text? We’ll do it with you.
You want another language? We’ll make it happen.

It’s YOUR Ketubah. It’s critical to us that YOU are jumping with joy with the text of your Ketubah.

My legalistic side insists I point out that sometimes, we need to charge a bit more for this, because we need to pay the artist to put the different text in, or hire a translator, or go back-and-forth a million times — and so forth. But it’s not much, just a few dollars!

What text do you want on your Ketubah? How could you make your Ketubah perfect?

Vietnamese Ketubah

Hot off the press: we just started working with a new couple who wants a Ketubah in…. wait for it…. Vietnamese!

We’re really excited about doing a Vietnamese Ketubah! Yay!!!

Luckily, we know an awesome Vietnamese translator (by luck!). It’s a rush Ketubah, so we’re doing it quickly.

It’s for a wonderful couple that we’ve spent the last few days talking to. A great Jewish-American and Vietnamese match, with an interfaith Ketubah honoring both of their traditions.

If anyone else is interested in a Vietnamese Ketubah, then… just ask away! We’re at your disposal, and now we’ll have the text on file for you!

More and More Ketubahs in South Africa – Cape Town and Johannesburg!

We’re super excited that so many couples in South Africa love our Ketubot!

Over the last few weeks, we’ve had a whole bunch of orders for ketubahs from couples in South Africa, in both Cape Town and Johannesburg.

We’ve just started creating, printing and shipping these Keubahs for South Africans — so it’s becoming very real!

I happen to know a lot of South African Jews: my best friend growing up was a South African Jew, and I spent most of my childhood in his house. I know their accent inside out, I’ve heard them for decades talk in their particular vernacular: “Joburg” for “Johannesburg”, “UCT” for “the University of Cape Town”, and so forth. We heart South African Jews!

In fact, on my honeymoon, I was in South Africa and went to a bunch of wonderful shuls and Shabbat services, and one wonderful rabbi even invited us to a shabbos dinner. It was a perfect honeymoon.

If anyone else in South Africa is interested in a Ketubah — just ask! :) We’d be honored!

Curious About Modern, Interfaith Ketubahs?

Many other Ketubah artists won’t create interfaith ketubahs. (For example, our more religious friends at Orthodox Ketubot only creates strictly kosher, religious ketubot.) There are many reasons why these other artists behave like this: many ketubah artists disapprove of intermarriage, for example.

But not here at This is not a Ketubah! We’re welcome and open to all! Whether you are a Jewish-Jewish, or Catholic-Jewish, or Episcopalian-Jewish, or Hindi-Jewish, or Muslim-Jewish… we would love to welcome you into our community with open arms, and an open heart.

Our approach towards interfaith marriages is to welcome everyone into our community. We would rather have one Jew plus his entire family in our community, than throw everyone away. Soon we’d be all alone :)

Plus, we love all the mixtures, in all the forms. Remember evolution: diversity of mixtures helps the genes improve!

If you want more information about an interfaith Ketubah — then just ask. It would be our honor and pleasure to create one for any interfaith couple!

The Ketubah is a special and sacred document. It is about the love and commitment between you two, regardless of who you are. We would love to include you, all of you, in the tradition.

Oh also: check out our partner Interfaith Ketubahs to see some great ones!

Want to Elope… with a Ketubah? We’ll Make It ASAP For You!

We’ve been wanting to create a Ketubah for a couple that’s going to elope. Vegas, Elvis, the mini-synagogue (what is the equivalent of a “chapel” for Jews?).

I personally didn’t elope, but it would be very exciting to help a couple that’s eloping.

Want to run away this weekend? We can make your Ketubah and get it to you in one day.

What are you waiting for? Life is short. Eloping is fun.

Plus you save a lot of money – hehehe :) A great, sexy way to avoid paying a ton for a wedding!!!! Maybe I should have eloped hehe :)

Here’s the funniest part: the word and the concept just doesn’t exist in the Spanish language. Working with our Ketubah artists from Argentina, we’ve had to explain the concept of “eloping” to them. And now… I think all of them will elope when they get married!

Latest Excitement: Ketubahs in Australia (Sydney and Melbourne!)

Over the last few months, we’ve gotten a bunch of calls and emails from couples in Sydney and Melbourne. And now we’ve just started creating and printing ketubot (“ketubahs” as they like to say, but I prefer the grammatically correct form, haha!) for them.

We’re very excited, and all of this talk — and their accents! — make all of us here want to go wrestle some crocodiles down under!

So far, we’ve been printing all of our ketubot for Australia in the USA and shipping it; but if there are enough couples, we can start printing them locally. But one step at a time!

SO if any of you are in Australia — Melbourne, Sydney, or anywhere else! — and are interested in a Ketubah, then just ask! :)

Ketubah in 24 Hours? We’ll do it!

Since we’ve started, we’ve had a lot of requests for last-minute Ketubot (“ketubahs,” as most say!): within a week, within a few days, close to the deadline of the wedding.

But we just had on Friday a record: a couple contacted us hysterical on Friday morning: their wedding was the next day, and they completely forgot about the Ketubah!

And guess what? We did it.

This was scary and exciting, running so hard, at the last minute.

But they got it, loved it, and there was no problem at all.

Lesson: if you’re getting married tomorrow, give us a call — and we can make a Ketubah for you!

(Note: we might not be able to. For example, this couple was in California, but if you’re in Bombay, it might be harder and we might not be able to, etc! But call us and we’ll discuss!).

Curious Ketubah of the Day: In Maori and Gaelic

One of the most exciting things about creating Ketubot, for us, is the wonderful and often weird combination of languages that we create ketubot on! Part of our uniqueness, within the Ketubah universe, is our excitement to create a Ketubah in any language you want under the sun — and we even have our own Ketubah texts in over a dozen languages, from French and German and Spanish to Russian and Polish!

But today’s Ketubah takes the cake: we just created a Ketubah for a couple in Canada who wanted their Ketubah in English, Maori and Gaelic. Yes, the Maori — the indigenous language of New Zealand! And yes, Gaelic — the ancient language of the British Isles! Who knew there were even speakers?

We’re very proud of creating this combination — and all our other creative combinations!

Do you want to create a Ketubah in a less-common language? Let us know! We’re here to help! :)
